1º Bachillerato A/B/C. Speaking / Listening - Unit 3

En esta sesión de "speaking" vais a entrevistaros entre vosotros de manera que lo haréis por parejas. 

En la entrevista haréis uso de las preguntas incluidas en el ejercicio 1 de la página 38 del libro:

1 Where were you born?

2 Where do you live?

3 When did you start skating / running / playing chess / ...?

4 Where did you go to school?

5 What makes you so successful?

6 What other interests have you got?

7 What makes you laugh?

8 What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you?

9 Who do you most admire and why?

10 What are you future plans?

De estas diez preguntas debéis hacer cinco a vuestro compañero y viceversa. Además debéis hacer dos preguntas opcionales más (las que querais).

OBSERVACIONES para la realización de ambas pruebas (Listening / Speaking):

Aquellos alumnos que no se presenten a la prueba el día acordado tendrán que presentar el justificante de falta de ese día, como muy tarde, el último día lectivo de la semana en la que la prueba haya sido realizada. NO SE ACEPTARÁN JUSTIFICANTES más allá de dicha fecha. La no presentación a la prueba o la no presentación del justificante de falta supone una calificación de 0 en la prueba.

2º Bachillerato C. Writing - Unit 3. A summary

In this unit you are going to write a summary. First, read the text on page 146 of your student's book and write a summary of 60-80 words. Before writing have a look on the following steps to help you:

Step 1 Read the text carefully and identify the main ideas so you can decide which to include in your summary.

Step 2 Paraphrase senteces when possible. What is paraphrasing? Paraphrasing, or rewriting sentences in your own words, is a useful skill when summarising. When paraphrasing we shorten or combine sentences, often using connectors.

Step 3 Use connectors to shorten or combine sentences to be more concise. In this blog you can find a link to a list of connectors and their translation into Spanish. Have a look here!

Step 4 You can get more help on page 141 (writing guide) of your student's book

Step 5 Check your work for mistakes.

REQUIREMENTS:

1 Summaries must be written on a A4 paper. Other formats (or sheets from a booknote) will not be accepted!

2 Try to write with readable caligraphy so I can understand what you write. Do not forget to include your name!

3 The deadline for this summary will be the 2nd of February. Summaries will not be accepted later.

1º Bachillerato A/B/C. Writing - Unit 3

En esta ocasión vas a escribir una biografía sobre el fundador del Parkour, David Belle, usando la información que el libro incluye en la actividad 6 de la página 37 del libro. 

Si quieres puedes escribir la biografía sobre alguien famoso. Puedes elegir la persona sobre la que vas a escribir, para ello trata de incluir los siguientes aspectos de la vida de esa persona (al igual que en la actividad del libro):

1. Nombre (Name)
2. Fecha de nacimiento (Date of birth)
3. Lugar de nacimiento (Place of birth)
4. Personalidad (Personality)
5. Intereses (Interests)
6. Información sobre su carrera/vida. (Career information)
7. Filosofía o actitud respecto a su profesión (Philosophy)

Puedes tomar como modelo la biografía de Earl Boykins de la página 36 de libro.

Puesto que vas a escribir una biografía, la vida de alguien, tendrás que usar como principal tiempo verbal el pasado simple (past simple).

Recuerda separar el texto en párrafos. Primero la apertura (opening), aquí presentamos a la persona y hablamos de los comienzos de su vida. Luego el cuerpo del texto (body) donde añadimos información sobre su carrera en orden cronológico. Por último en el cierre (closing) podemos hablar sobre los últimos logros de esa pesona así como proyectos para el futuro (si es que sigue vivo aún).

Haz uso de alguna de las siguientes expresiones:

• Be born in...(place) "He was born in Paris, France"
• Be born on...(date) "She was born on the 3rd of August"
• When he/she was a young child... "When Tom was a young child he had an accident so he lost his right hand"
• At the age of... "At the age of four Tom had an accident and he lost his right hand"
• As an adult... "As an adult Tom worked in the film industry"
• Died in... "Tom died in 1988"
• He/She was famous for... "Tom was famous for his great songs"

REQUISITOS MÍNIMOS:

1. Escribe la biografía en un folio. No se aceptarán escritos en hojas de cuadernos o similares.
2. Escribe con letra clara y legible. Una letra no legible implica la no corrección de la prueba.
3. La entrega de la prueba no se aceptará más allá de la fecha de entrega establecida.
